These Christmas Bible nativity activities for kids include crafts, readers, Bible stories, lesson plans for teachers, posters, games, songs, & more!
I'm very excited to introduce the newest unit that has been added to my Bible Curriculum for Toddlers, Pre-K, & Kinders

"God's Gift" is a Christmas unit mapped out especially for your choice of Toddlers, Pre-K, or Kindergarten kiddos. It includes FIVE easy to follow, 60-90 minute lesson plans that were made with Sunday School in mind, but are also a perfect fit for church curriculum, Sunday School teachers, Homeschool Parents, Christian parents, and Christian school teachers.

---Update: An additional 6th BONUS LESSON has been added!---

The unit includes a Big Truth: God's Gift Is Jesus and Bible Verse: 1 John 4:10 "God...loved us and sent his son." that are reiterated throughout all of the lessons in the unit. Colorful posters of the Big Truth and Bible Verse for your classroom are available to print.

The lessons included each have their own unique mini-truth while also reiterating the Big Truth of the unit that God's Gift Is Jesus. The lessons are as follows:

(Update: An additional 6th BONUS LESSON: SIMEON SEES JESUS has been added!)

Each lesson included can each be used for a 60-90 minute class time, depending on which activities you choose to use. This allows for an easy stopping point if class time is running short or long. Easy-to-follow teacher directions are available so that you can simply print and hand to whoever is teaching the class!

Also included in the unit are TONS of activity sheets, craftivities, class & student books, games, song & song poster, Big Truth & Bible Verse posters, teacher instructions & more...

One of my personal favorite activities in the unit is letting the kiddos break apart uncooked spaghetti noodles, match the sizes to the pieces of hay in the picture, and glueing them on. There is something very therapeutic and stress relieving about breaking uncooked spaghetti!

Much prayer was spent before making each Bible lesson in the unit. My goal with all of my Bible curriculum is to retell the Bible stories in a way that helps little learners understand God's Word while also meeting them where they're at and building their skills. My prayer was that God would help me simplify each story for these younger loves, without taking away from it.

The following student stories/emergent readers (plus full sized corresponding colorful class books) use easy-to-read text and are packed full of sight words! Kids will LOVE having their very own kid-friendly version of the stories to take home with them after the lesson each week. They are a great way to get parents and siblings engaged in the stories the kids are learning in your class. Hopefully, they will re-read (or help their little learner read) the emergent readers at home!

I have truly enjoyed creating every unit that is added to my Bible curriculum and hope that you and your littles are blessed by it as well!

Here are the links for purchasing:

You can save a lot of money by purchasing all of the units in a bundle rather than separately:

Not too long ago, I started a Bible emergent readers series. I was wanting a variety of Old and New Testament stories that could be simplified for a Kindergarten student to be able to read and understand.

Much prayer was spent before making each Bible reader. My goal was to retell the Bible stories in a way that helps emerging readers understand God's Word while also meeting them where they're at and building their reading skills. My prayer was that God would help me simplify each story for these younger loves, without taking away from it.

The Lost Coin is one of the parable stories that I created! I'm super excited to share it with you. Here is a pic of the cover of this emergent reader. I asked my 7th grade daughter to color sample pages of the book for me to post. She kept writing and re-writing my name as the 'Reader' trying to make it look like an adult had written it, ha!
I have created many Bible emergent readers that tell the story of various parables Jesus told. The ones that tell a parables all start out with "Jesus told some people a story."
Each page crams as many sight words as possible into the sentences, while also trying to keep them as short and simple as possible. Students are also introduced to quotation marks. Since it's Jesus telling the story, the kids only have to focus on one character voice when reading them!
This next page throws a little sneaky counting and number practice in! Shhh...don't tell!

Large, simple pictures help keep a little reader's focus on the text as they read.

This particular emergent reader has 11 pages to it. You can shorten it by easily omitting 3-4 of the pages if you feel it is too long for your specific child's needs.
You could even go as far as turning this book into a mini play activity by having students pair up and take turns being the Narrater while the other acts out the story as it's read.
It's not always easy to choose what sentence go into my Bible readers. Bible stories, and even just the words/names alone, can sometimes be difficult to put into a book for new readers. As you read, and use these books with your students, if you come across wording or parts of the story that you feel might need a little more attention, please know that I would love for you to reach out and let me know your thoughts!
Have students keep these books in their book boxes at school or send them home and encourage students to read the story to their parents!
I hope your students love this emergent reader as they learn and grow in God's word!

Today I'm going to show you some of the best faith-based Easter activities that you can use with your littles during your Easter lessons. And one of them, you'll be able to download absolutely FREE!

This past Christmas, my brother and his girlfriend (now fiancé...whoop, whoop!) gave our four kids the book The Tale of the Three Trees. It's what I'd like to kick off my Easter lesson plans with this year. The book is a traditional folktale retold by Angela Elwell Hunt and illustrated by Tim Jonke.
The book tells the story about three trees that dreamed about what they wished they would become someday. One dreamed to hold treasure, one dreamed to be a strong sailing ship that carried powerful kings, and one dreamed to grow so tall that when people looked at it they would think of God. I won't spoil the story for you, you'll have to get the book and read it for yourself to see what happens! But it's a great segue into Easter that I highly recommend.

Then I'm going to have my students make their own Easter Emergent Reader to have, to hold, & to practice their reading skills with.

Here are what some of the pages of the reader look like:

There are 12 pages total that you can choose from to use.

When I use this book, we highlight and work on recognizing the word "Jesus" so you'll see that word on almost every page of the book.

I found some adorable story retelling pieces for the kids to use.

Another retelling option is to use an Easter Story Wheel.

Some of the other math and ELA activities that I'll use for some of my centers throughout our Easter unit come from my Easters Activities for Kids Pack. There are 65 pages total to print!

I'm not going to show you all of the 65 pages you can print, but I will highlight a few. The first ones I'll show you practice beginning, middle, (with short vowels) and end sounds. There are 6 total of these.

The next ones I'm going to show you practice skip counting by twos, fives, and tens.

Grab a ruler (or just let students eyeball it) and practice measuring to determine which disciple of Jesus is taller than the other in its group! Groups of three spears are also available to make it a slight bit more challenging!

Color words recognition practice is available with two different sheets. This Colorful Coins one (can someone tell my why on earth my daughter is holding her crayon like that?!)...

...and there is also another that is called Colorful Tombs.

Practice filling in missing numbers with this next one.
And the best part is that it goes up to 21 so that you can assess if your littles know what comes after twenty!

That's all that I'm going to show you here, but there is so much more that comes with it!
There are two more emergent readers (one based on counting and one on color word recognition), practice in counting syllables, ten frames and tally marks, Easter Story Flip Book, 3-piece puzzles for younger learners, and more!

You can get the entire pack here: Easters Activities for Kids Pack.

I found a few really cute ideas on Pinterest that I'd like to try this year. The first one uses very simple supplies that I already have (Yay for not having to buy anything!).

I like this next one too. Again...I have the supplies already!

One last thing I found and then I'll give you your FREE DOWNLOAD! I saw this pin and thought it would be very fun to break the kids up into teams and see if they can form the cross with their fingers! I'm even willing to get down on the ground to take that picture from below looking up if they can do it! I figure, I'll show them this picture and let them study it while they try!

Ok...are you ready?! (Of course you are!)
It's FREEBIE time!
You'll want to download this FREE Easter printable! It will go right along with the other activities you have planned for your Preschool, Kindergarten, or First Grade kids! It reflects on the moments Jesus had in the Garden of Gethsemane, while also reinforcing color word and number recognition at the same time.

Here is what it looks like in its entirety. I do want to point out that the next picture was taken before I realized that there were two 'brown' options...whoops! Don't worry, I promise it has been corrected for your download! I also added some more numbers to the resource (like in the guards legs and shirt sleeves).
