This St. Patrick's Day BINGO game will fit right in with the other activities and crafts you're doing with your Preschool, Kindergarten, or First Grade students. Whether used for a class party or for centers time, it will reinforce the high frequency words you've learned so far this year!
Since everyone was so interested in the Valentine's Day BINGO I share, I'd thought I'd better show you that there's a St. Patrick's Day one too! (And many other themes -click here- are available as well!)

Everyone loves playing BINGO! There's nothing more thrilling than placing that final chip on your card and yelling "BINGO!" As I've said before, BINGO and Heads Up Seven Up where my absolute favorite games to play when I was in elementary school. We mostly played BINGO in music class...it's how I learned the names of various music symbols! If we won, we got a Jolly Rancher-woot-woot!

This St. Patrick's Day themed BINGO includes 30 different game cards, each with its own Valentine's Day themed picture at the top. The shamrock picture in the middle serves as the FREE spot. Use green M&Ms, or pennies even, for your BINGO chips to make it even more fun!

The 42 oversized calling cards make it easy for students to read as you call each word. Reinforcing sight words even more!

These are the words included:

How did I choose which words would go with this game?
Well, I wanted it to be something that students who struggle with HFWs could still have a lot of fun with. So I decided to use the beginning & middle of the Kindergarten Fry list words. If you have students who are advanced with their sight words, give them a pieces of paper and let them use the word in a short sentence in between calls. Or have them write a word that rhymes with it. But most importantly, HAVE FUN when playing this game! It's not intended to frustrate anyone!

Next week is SPRING BREAK!
So a lot of activities I have planned for this week
are geared around St. Patrick's Day.

Pinterest has more than enough
craft and snack ideas.
What I needed were some good books.

Here's what I found-
(there's more than what you'll need!)
Pick out what your class will love best...
by Greg Foley

Bear and Mouse are looking for luck. Four-leaf clover luck. Will they find it? Monkey says there's no such thing. Turtle thinks it'll take took long. And Groundhog wonders if they'll be unlucky if they can't find one. Suddenly Bear isn't sure if he should keep looking or give up...until Mouse sees something unusual.

by Ivan Robertson

It's St. Patrick's Day, and Jack Mouse is visiting his cousin Sean in Ireland. Sean tells Jack about the myth of leprechauns, and Jack is determined
to catch one for himself!

by Lucille Colandro

She's back! That lovely old lady has returned just in time for St. Patrick's Day. Now she's swallowing items to make the perfect rainbow
to hide a pot of gold!

by Eve Bunting

Rabbit is growing shamrocks in a pretty yellow
pot-he's getting them ready for St. Patrick's Day so he can wear them for the parade! When his pot of beautiful green shamrocks goes missing, he goes searching...will he find them in time?

by Teddy Slater

The St. Patrick's Day parade is off to a very fine start. The Leprechaun family is marching with lots of heart! Share in their dancing, share in their fun. You'll have the luck of the Irish when this day is done! Top o' the morning! It's March 17th, and the Leprechauns are gathered for their favorite day of the year. Join them as they celebrate St. Patrick's Day with music, dancing, and a parade!
